How can Bandter differentiate itself from the space for band forums that is currently occupied by Facebook 4BR? I'm not saying there isn't a space but we all saw the demise of TMP which did seem to be filled by 4BR and I wonder what others think about the Unique Selling Point a separate forum (Bandter) might put forward for it being a success?
Thanks for this Nigel. My initial reason for doing this was for banders to be able to comment live at contests when they are listening. Bandsmen like to read the comments from 4br etc. To see how they are doing, but a forum for everyone to comment would be a bit of fun. Obviously at this stage contests are some way off, I am trying to build a bit of a following to enable it to have some impact when we start contesting again. This is not a commercial venture, just a bit of fun. I have some time at the moment as I am furloughe, so it also something to keep me occupied. Take care and thanks again for your Comments. Martin
Thanks Martin. That is definitely an area that people have talked about and nothing has really filled the gap. I know Stephen Lomas (Bass Trom at B&R) was working on a mobile phone app for people to do their own adjudications but I don't know how far he's got and I'm not sure what he was considering in terms of functionality......the mind boggles. In any case I wish good luck with this venture. Whilst Im writing a shout out for Friary's second lockdown video for your piece for the day...I know Im biased lol Its going to be interesting when the details emerge for Cory's On-Line Brass Band Championship as that will give another opportunity for your concept. I'll try to drum up some business for you! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fu__RhMUqF0
